Joint program of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and Norilsk Nickel Company “The Future of the North” was launched in 2006.
The aim of the program is to support the most promising students, who are eager to start their career at the Norilsk Nickel enterprises in the northern regions of Russia.
MMC Norilsk Nickel selects graduates who correspond to the professions required by the company and offers them to have summer practice in the enterprises located in Norilsk.
The Vladimir Potanin Foundation arranges for the contenders business training which allows them to gain the necessary skills in team interaction, project thinking, ability to make a presentation of their personality and their projects, to resolve conflict situations. They develop and then implement social projects aimed at improvement of life in Norilsk.
Since the programs beginning 113 students have become the scholarship winners. The selection considered personal results in the training, team spirit in implementing the task, as well as, evaluation of their success during the practice. The scholarship, amounting to 3,000 Rubles the same as in the other programs, is granted on a monthly basis during the year.
