The Vladimir Potanin Foundation has been running this program jointly with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) since 2001. The aim of the program is to perfect the quality of training of officers of the Russian diplomatic service.
Every year 25-30 of the best final-year MGIMO students go for practice abroad. Preferable host countries for practical training are those with uncommon and difficult languages – CIS countries, Central and Eastern European countries, South East Asian countries.
Over the five years of the program’s existence more than 170 future officers of the Russian diplomatic service have passed through the practice program.
